CLEAN IT UP
Cleanliness is nice for all sexual activities, but the anus is the final gate of our digestive tract, so it is particularly important to practice good hygiene when partaking of anal pleasures. Start with a shower, but remember that external washing does not always prevent an encounter with a speck of fecal matter, particularly in penetrative anal sex. For many, a little poo is not the end of the world. But for others it is a deal-breaker, the one and only reason that they refuse to explore anal sex. Getting past this drawback is worth it. Most anal sex does not involve going any farther than the rectum, which is the chute that fecal matter passes through on its way out and in which usually not more than a trace remains. Still, nothing short of douching will guarantee a completely poop-free adventure. If you don’t want to douche (or even if you do), using a latex barrier such as a condom or a glove will prevent any infelicitous matter from touching hands, dicks, or toys.
Butt First: The Anal Douche
An anal douche squirts water into the rectum to flush out any traces of your last bowel movement. Less elaborate than a fullenema but more complete than a soapy finger in the shower, it’s a fastidious anal-sex lover’s dream accessory. Filling andemptying the rectum a couple of times with comfortably warm water clears the path for mess-free fun. Caution: Douche a coupleof hours before you intend to have anal sex to give the good mucous that coats the rectal walls time to return.
